The Forestry Development Trust (FDT) is looking for candidates to fill in the following positions;
- Senior Manager, Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) and Public Forests
The successful candidate will lead the Trust’s intervention focused on PPPs/Concessions on public land as well as engagement with the Government of Tanzania supporting its plantation establishment. The objective of the role will be to successfully deliver a pilot PPP initiative that establishes high quality plantations on public land with private investors and provides demonstration and learning that supports future scale up of PPP plantation initiatives on additional public land.
The role will need to work closely with key government stakeholders and private investors, as well as draw-in support from across the Trust and with external consultants to support delivery of multi-faceted and complex interventions.
2. Senior Manager, Wood Product Markets
The successful candidate will lead the Trust’s ongoing interventions in the sawn timber and Engineered Wood Products (EWP) value chains while on the lookout for emerging opportunities in other value chains, focused on the processing of trees into diverse high-value wood products.
The objective of the role will be to successfully develop markets for processed wood products, increase investment in processing infrastructure and drive operational improvements in processors across the different value chains – with the ultimate goal being maximizing value-add from the processing segment of the value chain.
The role will need to work closely with private sector actors including investors, key government ministries, agencies and departments, service providers and a range of technical experts who can support the delivery of a challenging and complex set of interventions.
